Health and Cinema Festival-Pune

HEALTH & CINEMA FESTIVAL
Venue: FTII, Law College Road, Pune
Date: 05.12.2008 – 07.12.2008, 12.12.2008 – 14.12.2008

Can watching a film like The Departed help you cope with your own betrayals? Does The Queen make you think about your place in class and society? And can a movie like Letters From Iwo Jima teach you anything about war and conflict? Therapists recommend movies to help change the way we think and feel. A combination of health and cinema is quite the perfect prescription for both – the mind and the body. The Health & Cinema Film Festival is an effort to educate people under the guise of entertainment. The festival is organized by Dr. Mohan Agashe in association with FTII, Alliance Française de Poona and Max Mueller Bhavan, Pune. A total of nine films will be presented, that deal with the topic of health: There will be three films each from France, Germany and India. After the films there will be a discussion with experts from the health sector and at the end of the festival the experts will share their thoughts about health & cinema during a panel discussion.

A total seven common entrance tests (CETs) of significance for students in Maharashtra after their H.S.C. examination are lined up within a span of 55 days — between April 6 and June 1.It includes MHT-CET-2008.

To the relief of the students, the timings of these two exams are not clashing and are spread over morning and afternoon sessions.
The AFMC will be filling up 130 seats (105 boys and 25 girls) through the all-India entrance exam, which is regarded as the toughest of the CETs.
The ASSO CET 2008 is expected to draw a much larger number of students considering that the exam is the gateway to 5,975 health science courses seats at 110 private unaided colleges across Maharashtra. Result of PGM-CET-2008

PGM-CET-2008 was conducted by DMER for admission to MD/MS/Diploma courses in medical colleges of Maharashtra in Jan 2008.Its result is declared on 7th Feb 2008.

This result has come as a big surprise to many candidates, espencially those who had received version 44 Question paper for the said examination. Many candidates reported they got atleast 30 marks less than their expectations. As each and every single mark is invaluable in this examination and as it is question of hundreds of PG aspirants in Maharashtra, these students have decided to be united to find a solution for this 'Shock'.
